Garam Gallery

This project is for a gallery located in center of In-Sa area in Seoul which is a very special area because In-Sa is filled with many Korean traditional cultures: for instance, Korean traditional housing, food, and clothing. There are also many galleries that carry a number of artworks from ancient Korea to diverse modern artworks. The gallery wanted to renovate the logo, its application, and interior. Since the name of the gallery “Garam” means “River,” I focused on “Water.” Then, I got an idea from an ancient Asian pictogram. I modified it to be a main symbol as the meaning “Flowing Water.” I concentrated on each combination of the English letters and Korean letters with this symbol.
